Pennsmen Information

About Us:

The Pennsmen is a social group of GLBT individuals with a common interest in the leather/rubber/fetish lifestyle located in South Central Pennsylvania.

Our membership is diverse and we are dedicated and committed to promoting pride and understanding of our lifestyle in the larger gay community. We donate our time and energy to assist causes that are important to our unique community as well as the broader human community.

History:

Founded in 1977 by 13 men; they launched a social group interested in leather and the leather lifestyle. The basic design of the colors was set with a keystone shield edged in gold, the capitol dome and a sword to represent Harrisburg and 2 crossed spears, as well as a red and white rose to represent the cities of Lancaster and York respectively. Stretched across the bottom of the design is a link of chain representing each of the original members.

In 1978, at a meeting in N.Y.C., our friends the Spartan MC of DC and seconded by the Centaurs of DC, the club was nominated and approved for AMCC membership. Since that time, the club has continually evolved and remains a strong force in the Harrisburg Area gay community supporting AIDS education and assisting causes that are important to our community.

Our Mission:

We are a group of LGBT people with a common interest in the leather/fetish lifestyle. We are committed to promoting pride in and a greater understanding of our lifestyle. In addition, we are committed to promoting pride in the larger gay community, as well as to donating our time and energy to assist causes that are important to our unique community as well as the broader human community.
